TARI (Waste Tariff) is calculated on the basis of two shares, the fixed share and the variable share. To calculate the fixed fee, it is necessary to multiply the square meters of the property by the rate corresponding to the number of household members occupying the same property. To the fixed fee is added the variable fee, identified according to the number of household members. To the amount thus obtained, TEFA (provincial tax for the exercise of environmental functions, set by the individual provinces at an amount not less than 1 percent nor more than 5 percent of the sum of the fixed and variable quotas) must be added.
