The first Integrated Multi-Tier District Project entitled “Innovation and Tradition of the Southern Tuscany Rural District Supply Chains” has been approved, marking an important step forward for the agribusiness sector. The region has given the go-ahead to this project, allowing the liquidation of a total contribution of 4.5 million euros out of a total investment of more than 13 million euros, destined for 20 companies operating in the agrifood supply chains of the Val di Cornia, Maremma and Val di Chiana Senese.
Vice-President and Regional Councillor for Agribusiness, Stefania Saccardi, stressed the importance of this recognition, which marks a significant support for Tuscan farms associated with the Rural District concept. This project, funded in June 2020 under the 2014/2022 Psr resources, was completed in three and a half years, demonstrating an efficiency in time management that could serve as a model for future similar initiatives.
