Executive Decree No. 14822 of 06/28/2024, which approves a call for capital grants to Tuscan livestock farmers aimed at improving animal welfare beyond current standards, will be published in the BURT on July 10. The call, part of the GiovaniSì project and the Rural Development Complement (CSR) 2023-2027, has €3 million in EU funds. Farmers qualified as Professional Agricultural Entrepreneurs (IAPs) or Direct Farmers (CDs), whether individual or associated, are eligible to participate. Fundable investments include tangible (biosecurity, animal welfare) and intangible (management software) improvements. The contribution will be 80 percent for basic and 85 percent for small farms, up to a maximum of 350,000 euros. Applications with contributions of less than 15 thousand euros will not be accepted. This call aims to place Tuscany among the top Italian regions with high animal welfare standards, while also improving the environment, consumer safety and the quality of livestock production.
